Vlatko Stefanovski and V3 trio in Hvar on Veneranda 31.07.
Vlatko Stefanovski is one of the greatest guitar virtuosos in this part of Europe, who skilfully combines ethno-jazz, rock, jazz-fusion and blues with his guitar technique. V3 Trio is his youngest section to date, which, along with him, consists of Ivan Kukić on bass and Jan Stefanovski on drums.
This summer, on July 31, you will be able to listen to them in Veneranda on Hvar starting at 9:00 p.m.
Vlatko’s mastery extends to melodies that few can play precisely because of his unique fusion of ethnic, jazz, blues and rock music. Stefanovski has a long successful career. As a member of the group Leb i Sol, he recorded 13 albums. By combining traditional Macedonian music and rock, they went down in history as one of the most famous bands of the former Yugoslavia, and songs such as: Devetke, Jovano Jovanke, Aber Dojde Donke became evergreens of Macedonian music and forever indebted to Macedonian culture.
The independent career of Vlatko Stefanovski is no less impressive. Since the breakup of the group Leb i Sol, he has released 15 albums. He is known all over the world for his incredible performance on the guitar and his collaborations with top, world-famous musicians such as: Tommy Emmanuel, Stochelo Rosenberg, Miroslav Tadić, Theodosii Spassov, Jan Akkerman and others. The collaboration with Miroslav Tadić, to which he has devoted himself for the past twenty years, shed new light on the acoustic guitar and the research of Macedonian traditional music. Recently, he presented an unusual musical fusion in the sold-out Lisinski, performing with the folklore ensemble Tanec.
Stefanovski is the winner of the Macedonian state award for life’s work in culture and art “11. oktobar”, and he is also the recipient of an honorary doctorate in art awarded to him by the famous University of St. Cyril and Methodius from Skopje. Vlatko Stefanovski can also boast of the world-wide success he achieved by writing music for film, theater and ballet. The music for the Russian film “Way to the Sun” directed by Yesim won two awards at the Berlin Film Festival in 1999.
