Duo Amasia will perform at the Hvar Theatre on July 31, 2024, at 9 PM (free entrance).
The young instrumental duo Amasia was founded in 2023 in Vienna, at the MDW – University of Music and Applied Arts. Duo Amasia performs pieces by well-known Spanish, Latin American and local composers in a unique and attractive way that resonates with audiences of diverse sensibilities. Their repertoire includes works by famous composers such as Astor Piazzolle, Maximo Diego Pujol, Joaquin Rodrigo, Laurent Boutros, Fernando Sor, Boris Papandopoulos and others.
Lucia Kaplowitz, Violin
Born in 2005 in New York, USA, Lucia began learning violin through the “Suzuki” method in Rijeka and continued her education at the Elly Bašić Music School in Zagreb. She has attended prestigious seminars and international workshops across Europe and won numerous awards, including first prizes at ARS Nova in Trieste and Sonus, op.7 in Križevci. She also won the national HDGPP competition in 2021 and received the “Oskar znanja” award. In 2023, she became a scholarship recipient from the Marin Čilić Foundation. Lucia has performed at Carnegie Hall, Vatroslav Lisinski Concert Hall, and the Croatian Music Institute. Her inspirations include her parents, Regina Carter, Miles Davis, and others. She also composes music, with her pieces performed at the Music Biennale in Zagreb in 2023.
Rastko Marinković, Guitar
Rastko, born in 2003 in Zrenjanin, studies at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. He has won numerous awards at national and international competitions, including first places at festivals such as “Art Parade” in Belarus, “Classic Art Festival,” “Vojvodina Guitar Fest,” “Sarajevo International Guitar Festival,” and “Pannonia Guitar Festival.” He also secured second places at the “Transylvania International Guitar Festival” and the “Albania International Guitar Competition.” In Vienna, he continues to develop his distinctive playing style, characterized by energetic and loud compositions with Latin American influences.
