Although Nikša Petrić was better known to the Hvar and Croatian public for his archaeological research and notable discoveries, he announced himself to the world as a poet. In the 1970s, he published the poetry collection “Metamore“, which earned him the Antun Branko Šimić Award.
In this small collection of short, condensed verses, Hvar’s homeland and Mediterranean picturesqueness are the main motifs, enriched with meditativeness.
On Friday, April 14, 2023. at 18:30 in the City Library and Reading Room of Hvar, his verses will be recited by Prof. Milan Lakoš.
