Bol celebrated the 100th anniversary of organized tourism in Bol, on April 28, 2023, with the Conference on sustainable island development and digital transformation in Tourism – Green Energy Islands #BOL100 that organized by the Municipality of Bol and the Tourist Board of the Municipality of Bol.
The program consisted of topics and panel discussions on the development of smart and sustainable islands, energy, green and digital transition, better transport connections, sustainable beach management, coastal planning, European funds and grants, and pointed to positive examples from practice.
The “Sustainable Island” award was given to the most successful sustainable island projects, including the Sunčani Hvar hotel for the solar power plant project and the Town of Hvar for the renovation of the Hvar Arsenal and the Theater. The award was received for the Town of Hvar by Mayor Rikardo Novak and for Sunčani Hvar by Zdravko Tudor.
