Zakopana čuda | Buried Wonders

A multimedia theatre performance about love, memory and illusion, based on the work of Monika Herceg, directed by Nina Violić, and starring Leon Lučev and Jelena Graovac Lučev, draws the audience into the intimate final moments of a woman’s life.

Her memories open hidden, stripped-down shelters and scenes in which imagination and reality intertwine. Poetry transcends reality, while reality echoes monumentally through the corridors of thought.

Through three settings – a paradise garden, a bridge and an apartment – the audience enters the space of a life shaped by reality and imagination, desires and needs. What unfolds is a journey through time, encounter and fulfillment, as the echoes of memory compose a personal Love Manifesto – a musical-performative cry of freedom and devotion, unified by the sounds created by Ivanka Mazurkijević and Damir Martinović Mrle.

The performance uses video projections as a scenographic form, creating three-dimensional spaces in which the actors immerse themselves in a “living image.” Hyperrealistic visuals inspired by the work of multimedia artist Toni Soprano replace classical stage adaptation, transforming the space into a dynamic landscape of memory.

By combining live acting, video imagery and musical performance, Buried Wonders dissolves the boundaries between theatre and film, between the real and the imagined. The result is a live theatre film – visually powerful, emotionally exposed and universally resonant.
