The Celebration of Hvar Town Day 2024, taking place from September 30 to October 6, brings a rich and diverse program in honor of the town and its history.
The main events begin with a ceremonial session of the city council, a holy mass, and a procession marking the feast of Saint Stephen. Additionally, sea lovers can enjoy the Open Sails Days event, where, under the guidance of Olympic sailor Filip Jurišić and an experienced instructor, participants of all ages will have the opportunity to experience the thrill of sailing.
A special cultural event will be the presentation of the Spanish edition of Gibonni’s poetry collection Banderas de un imperio hundido on October 1 at the Hvar Theatre, followed by Gibonni’s concert in front of the Loggia on October 2.
In addition, citizens and visitors will be able to enjoy traditional events such as the Fešta od forske pulene, a concert by the tamburica ensemble Dobreč, performances by folklore groups, and other musical acts. As part of the event “Rethinking the Future – Island of Hvar,” lectures will be given by renowned speakers Marco Buckley and Dina Baenninger.
The celebration concludes with a formal gathering on Veterans’ Day, featuring musical and stage performances by local artists such as Stella Maris, celebrating Hvar’s rich history and future.
