One of the most influential and distinctive Croatian alternative rock bands, Pips, Chips & Videoclips, will perform in Hvar as part of the Hvar Summer Festival.
The band emerged in 1992 as a unique and stylistically diverse presence on the Croatian music scene. Their very first single, “Dinamo ja volim”, quickly gained widespread popularity and established the band’s cult status among audiences.
Their debut album “Shimpoo Pimpoo” (1993) introduced the eclectic style that would become their trademark, while later albums such as “Dernjava”, “Fred Astaire” and “Bog” firmly established them as one of the defining bands of the Croatian alternative scene.
Released in 1997, “Fred Astaire” is considered one of the most important Croatian rock albums of the 1990s, while “Bog” further expanded the band’s artistic expression and innovative production style.
Throughout their career, Pips, Chips & Videoclips have remained recognized for their original combination of music, art, humour and social commentary, continuously pushing the boundaries of the regional alternative music scene.
In the late 2000s, the band developed the “astronaut” and Fafenštajn mission concept, combining music, performance and multimedia elements, while the album “Pjesme za gladijatore” further confirmed their creativity and innovation.
