As part of HVARMONY – The Art of Wellbeing, Hvar Theatre turns into a wonderfully playful fairytale world on Sunday, 18 October 2026 at 11:00. The children’s musical “Lost in a Fairytale” (Zalutali u bajci) brings familiar characters to life in unexpected new roles, with plenty of laughter, music, dance and audience participation.
Familiar fairytales with a playful twist
Fairytales aren’t what they used to be, now they are even more playful, surprising, funny and full of music.
The King and the love of his life, the Queen, welcome the audience to their new fairytale theatre. The story takes us back to the time when the King was still a Prince, setting off on his very first adventure to find the famous princess known as Sleeping Beauty.
Along the way, he encounters an eccentric Little Red Riding Hood, a magical frog, Rapunzel the influencer and a host of other familiar fairytale characters. His friend Grumpy the dwarf is there to offer advice, while one question remains: is the wicked witch really all that wicked – and how exactly do you wake a sleeping beauty?
An adventure where children become part of the story
It is quite an adventure for a lazy and somewhat spoiled Prince, but with the help of children in the audience, he learns valuable lessons along the way that lead him towards his heroic victory.
Combining acting, dance, humour and original songs, the musical creates an interactive experience for children and everyone who still feels like one.
The leading roles are performed by Manuela Svorcan and Bojan Jambrošić, with a script by Igor Weidlich, direction by Robert Bošković and production by B GLAD Produkcija.
