Kries | Tradition, mythology and contemporary world music energy
When: Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 9:00 PM
Where: Malo Grablje, Hvar
One of the leading representatives of the Croatian and regional world music scene, Kries, will perform in the unique setting of Malo Grablje.
The band draws inspiration from traditional songs, archaic Croatian chants and Slavic mythology, creating a powerful fusion of traditional and contemporary music.
Led by the energetic vocals of Mojmir Novaković, Kries builds a musical bridge between past and present, combining the sound of bagpipes, diple, lijerica and percussion with guitar, bass and drums.
Founded in 2003, the band introduced its distinctive musical direction with the debut album “Ivo i Mara”, followed by “Kocijani” and “Selo na okuke / Village Tracks”, which confirmed their international reputation. Released by Riverboat Records, “Selo na okuke” received excellent reviews in leading global music media and spent two months at the top of the World Music Charts Europe.
Kries has performed at numerous Croatian and international festivals, including Sziget, Roots & Blues Festival in Canada, Rainforest World Music Festival in Borneo, Penang World Music Festival, Celtic Connections in Scotland and Colors of Ostrava.
Audiences in Malo Grablje can expect an intense concert experience where the primal power of tradition meets rock energy and contemporary world music expression.
