Traditional Klapa Music Evening in the Heart of Hvar
On Monday, June 29 at 9:30 PM, the square in front of the Church of the Holy Spirit in Hvar will host a special evening dedicated to UNESCO protected, traditional Dalmatian klapa singing, featuring performances by Klapa Bodulke and Klapa Galešnik. Visitors can expect an authentic musical experience filled with emotion, tradition, and the recognizable sounds of Dalmatia.
Klapa Bodulke | Female Klapa Group from Hvar
Klapa Bodulke was founded in 2004 as a result of gatherings among young women raised in a Christian spirit, for whom singing became a joyful expression of faith and togetherness.
The group actively promotes cultural heritage and Dalmatian musical traditions through numerous performances, festivals, and cultural events. They appeared at the debut evening of the Festival of Dalmatian Klapa in Omiš and regularly perform at festivals and concerts across Croatia.
In 2010, the group released its first album titled Golubice bila. Today, the klapa consists of seven members united by their shared love for traditional and contemporary Dalmatian songs.
The group is led by Tomi Domančić.
Klapa Galešnik | A Recognizable Voice of Hvar
Klapa Galešnik was founded in late 2002 by a group of friends who grew up together surrounded by Dalmatian music and local festivities in Hvar.
In 2003, the klapa performed at the debut evening of the Festival of Dalmatian Klapa in Omiš and has since appeared several times in the finals of this prestigious competition.
Through regular concerts and performances, Klapa Galešnik has become an important part of Hvar’s cultural identity. The group has performed throughout Croatia and abroad, proudly presenting the rich musical heritage of Dalmatia to international audiences.
Their first CD was released in 2005, and the klapa is also led by Tomi Domančić.
