One of Croatia’s most acclaimed young pianists, Jan Niković, will perform in Hvar as part of the Hvar Summer Festival.
His interpretations have attracted international attention from audiences and critics alike, and he regularly performs across Europe, North and South America, and Asia. His artistic style is distinguished by a unique combination of lyricism, virtuosity and thoughtful musical expression.

Niković has appeared as a soloist with numerous renowned orchestras, including the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Domingo Hindoyan, the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, the Croatian Radiotelevision Symphony Orchestra, Zagreb Soloists and the Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra.
His performances have been broadcast internationally on NHK Japan, CNN Brazil and WXQR, one of New York’s leading classical radio stations, while in Croatia he is recognized as one of the leading young musicians of his generation.
He has received numerous awards at international competitions including Hilton Head, Sendai, Bösendorfer USASU, EPTA, Ferdo Livadić and Papandopulo. He is a seven-time recipient of the “Oscar of Knowledge” award, as well as a recipient of the Yamaha Scholarship and the Rector’s Award of the University of Zagreb.
Niković completed his master’s studies at the Academy of Music in Zagreb under Professor Ruben Dalibaltayan and continues his artistic development with Professor Natalia Trull and at the Music Academy in Liechtenstein.
He is also widely recognized for his creative approach to presenting classical music on social media, where his performances have reached millions of viewers.
In 2024 he received the “Young Musician of the Year” award from the Zagreb Philharmonic Orchestra, and in 2025 the same recognition was awarded to him by Croatian Youth Music through the Ivo Vuljević Award.
