Ana Tudor: “A Kilometer of the Danube”
On the occasion of Earth Day, on Wednesday, April 22, an exceptional art project by Ana Tudor will be presented at Galerija Arsenal in Hvar. The monumental work “A Kilometer of the Danube” uniquely connects art with environmental awareness.
The project depicts the entire course of the Danube – from its source in Schwarzwald to its mouth in the Black Sea – through an impressive painting measuring 1,000 meters in length.
The artwork consists of 40 painted canvas rolls created in acrylic technique and was developed over three years of dedicated work. This unique artistic journey, which has already been presented in numerous European cities, carries a strong message about the importance of preserving nature and biodiversity.
“I believe this painting sends a powerful message, especially to future generations – preserve the richness we have,” said Ana Tudor.
Ana Tudor has lived and worked between Sonta and Hvar, drawing inspiration from the fusion of continental and Mediterranean landscapes.
This Earth Day, through art, we are reminded of the importance of protecting the natural beauty that surrounds us.
