Hvar Film Festival 2025 will take place from September 10 to 14 in Hvar, with screenings and events at venues such as Veneranda and Hvar’s main square (Pjaca). The festival will feature 15 short films from Croatia and across Europe in the competition program, divided into three slots, with free evening screenings from September 11 to 13 (free tickets available via Entrio.hr or at the Hvar Tourist Board office).
The festival opens on September 10 with a film music concert and a screening of the Croatian film The Summer We Left Behind, followed by a live performance by Jakov Jozinović.
A professional jury consisting of Matej Merlić, Stevan Filipović, and Alex Lopreino will decide on the best film.
The industry section of the festival includes the Sunny Shorts Film Market and Actor’s Hub, with workshops, panels, and open public talks. Several European film stars are also expected to attend.
The festival closes on September 14 with the official awards ceremony.
