In Veli Đardin, an ambiance full of Mediterranean charm, on June 11, 2025, starting at 7:30 p.m., Faroski Kantaduri, (Klapa) a male vocal group from Stari Grad, known for nurturing original Dalmatian songs and rich interpretations of the musical heritage of the island of Hvar and beyond, will perform.
Klapa singing, which has been on the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity since 2012, is a special form of polyphonic singing that is deeply rooted in the identity of Dalmatia.
The word “kantaduri” comes from the verb kantati – to sing, and kantaduri are the guardians of an old tradition passed down from generation to generation, often without music – only with heart and ear.
